Flower Mound Citizens' Academy
Bridging the Gap Between Residents and Local Government
Flower Mound residents are invited to participate in the Flower Mound Citizens’ Academy. Participants will gain a better understanding of their Town’s government and the services provided, while Town staff will gain valuable insight into the priorities and needs of residents.
Ten sessions are held at various Town facilities between January and April from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm, with most of them taking place on Tuesday, followed by a graduation ceremony during a regular Town Council meeting. Each participant must attend one regular Town Council meeting during this same time.

Each week will feature presentations from different Town staff representing various Departments. It is free to Flower Mound residents and business owners, 18-years and older, who are able to commit to a minimum of 8 out of the 10 sessions. Registration is limited to the first 22 applicants. A release of liability agreement will be required.
**REGISTRATION FOR THE 2017 ACADEMY IS CLOSED BECAUSE WE HAVE REACHED THE MAXIMUM CAPACITY**
Registration will reopen in early November 2017 for the 2018 Academy, and will conclude in December, or until the maximum of 30 participants is reached (the last 8 applications received will be wait-listed in the event one of the initial 22 applicants need to withdraw). Each applicant will be contacted by the Town Secretary's Office informing them of their enrollment status.
