Tough Talks: Money and Your Aging Family Member
Join us on Tuesday, March 27 at 7 p.m. for the program "Tough Talks: Money and Your Aging Family Member." Caregivers for seniors often need to have difficult talks about money and finances with their senior loved ones. Tim Smith with Modern Woodmen of America will show you how to navigate these tough conversations, keep seniors safe from fraud and financial abuse, and how to prepare to take over finances when the time comes. Yoga at the Library
Detox and De-stress Monday evenings 7 to 8 p.m. on April 2, 9, 16, 23, and 30. Enjoy the harmonizing benefits of yoga through this practice of stretching and strengthening, breath work, relaxation, and meditation. This class provides clear instructions and modifications, making it accessible to practitioners of all levels. Open to all over 18 years of age. Bring a mat and water. The Life of a Common Civil War Soldier
On Wednesday, April 11 at 7 p.m., Historian Bruce Ralston dons his uniform as Sgt. Josiah Ballou of the Union Cavalry to tell stories of his past life as a Civil War soldier. The presentation will include props such as replica weapons and items carried by soldiers. He will cover topics ranging from why we fought, what we ate, and the daily life of a soldier. Pay for College Without Going Broke
On Tuesday, April 17 at 7 p.m., representatives from Ducerus, a College Planning Firm, will present 'Pay for College Without Going Broke!' If you are a parent of a high school student who plans to attend a four-year state college or private university, plan to attend this free workshop. This workshop provides a wealth of information that families need to understand the process and significantly improve their financial aid awareness. FMCO Chamber Music Concert
On Saturday, April 21 at 2:30 p.m., the Flower Mound Philharmonic and Preparatory Orchestras will present a chamber music concert at the Library. Part of the Flower Mound Community Orchestras, the Philharmonic and Preparatory Orchestras are educational ensembles whose members are comprised of children, youth, and adult amateur musicians. The groups perform original works and arrangements from the classical and popular orchestral repertoire.
