  2. Denton County Friends of the Family Black History Month Event

    Join Denton County Friends of the Family (DCFOF) to observe the start of Black History Month. Dr. Yamma Brown, author and daughter of James Brown, the “Godfather of Soul,” will explore the history of domestic violence within the African American community, while working alongside DCFOF’s Our Community Matters program representatives, to bring increased awareness to the resources available to victims of domestic violence. DCFOF is the sole provider in Denton County of shelter and free outreach services to those who have been impacted by relationship violence and/or sexual assault.
